BAKE! - Graphic Design Magazine

For this project, I created a baking magazine spread based on the design ideas of Pop Art. I was tasked with creating a magazine of my choice and pairing that with a design era of my choice. I thought doing a baking magazine mixed with the colour and fun from pop art would be an interesting mix and this is the end result. This is my favourite project I created as it thought me so much while doing it and I perfected skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign.

My research had to be in-depth for this project and I really had to understand what Pop Art was. I was inspired by both Andy Warhol and Richard Hamilton. I loved the colour that Warhol used while the layering and collaging of Hamilton led me to create sticker-like images.

I created all these images myself and from scratch. I took images of cakes online and with illustrator created an accompanying vector image. I created the Pop Art style backgrounds and plates and added sticker-like images to create an overall Pop Art Style Cake Page. My Table of Contents page took all the cake images I created and the different sections represented the different pages the recipes were on.

This whole project displays my love for research and developing an idea. The end result fully shows how I work as a designer and the level I want all my projects to be at.
